About Prayer Times Doha
What this site does, where the data comes from, and the calculation method behind every time.
What this site does
Prayer Times Doha shows the five daily prayer times for Doha, Qatar. It lists Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha for today, with a live countdown to the next prayer. Each time updates automatically every day. All times are shown in Arabia Standard Time (AST), which is UTC+3.
The site covers more than the daily five. It includes a monthly prayer calendar, a Hijri (Islamic) calendar, a Qibla direction finder, an adhan (call to prayer) schedule, and dedicated pages for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha.
Our data source and method
Prayer times come from the Aladhan API using the Qatar method (Umm al-Qura based, method 10). This is the calculation officially recognised for Qatar. Fajr and Isha use an 18 degree twilight angle, and Asr follows the standard shadow length. Qatar does not observe daylight saving time, so the UTC+3 offset is fixed all year.
The data is fetched on the server and cached, so the site stays fast and does not call the API on every visit. The Hijri dates use the Umm al-Qura conversion provided by the same source.
Features
The site brings several tools together in one place. These include the daily prayer times, a 12-hour and live countdown display, a monthly schedule table, the Hijri calendar, the Qibla compass (which points toward the Kaaba in Makkah at about 253 degrees from Doha), and the adhan timetable with the full text of the call to prayer.
The Qibla finder uses your device location and orientation sensor for a live compass. The Hijri calendar converts every Gregorian day (for example 05 June 2026) to its Islamic date.
Our purpose
The goal is to give Doha residents and visitors one reliable, fast place for prayer times. The site is mobile-first, works without an app, and does not require a login. Times are sourced from a recognised calculation authority rather than entered by hand.
